Inside the Guarro's Mind

My name is Marco, I’m from Napoli and I was born in January 93'.
I always loved pets and videogames and this played a big part in who I am today and how I built my career.
I started my journey in the IT industry with Accenture ATS which invested in me giving me the opportunity to learn about Java in April 19' with a 2 months learning class, after that I landed a six-months stage with them where I started my integration career as Tibco Developer.

I was struck by how easy it was to develop application compared to how much effort I had to profuse with Java and soon I began to crave for more informations and knowledge: this is the reason which brought me to MuleSoft.

I had been working on Tibco for little over a year when the occasion to start learning MuleSoft arised and a volunteer was needed: I volunteered and I’ve never looked back.
Both my career and my skills have been blooming since I met MuleSoft, I learned pattern, Dataweave, architectures and I’m still learning everyday and trying my best to teach to others: in 2022 I got nominated “MuleSoft Mentor”, what an honor!

At the moment I’m working for H-NRG as Integration Architect and I’m having a lot of fun setting up our MuleSoft Integration Unit and we already achieved a great milestone: we’re officially a MuleSoft Partner!

Hopefully in the future I’ll turn out as a decent Solution Architect, which is the role that I’d like to take on in a few years, otherwise I’ll be onhappy to be just a decent human being.

I love music, 5-side soccer, boardgames, videogames and food.
Sadly my love for food shows more than the others (except maybe boardgames, but you should see my house to understand that) but I’m trying to cut it down and lose some weight. It’s so hard tho!

I also love animals, actually I dreamed about being a veterinary when I was a kid but life shaped me a different path for many reasons, so I’m not a doctor but only an owner: during my life I’ve been owner to turtles, parrots, fishes but since my first one when I was ~10 years old I have always been surrounded by dogs and I hope to keep it this way for all my life since they are by far the animal I resonate more with.

I mostly prefer adopting strays or crossbreeds since the ones with a pedigree never have trouble finding a home.
